The United Socialist States of Karjania (Routan: Karjanmaan Yhdistyneet Sosialistiset Valtiot), commonly known as Karjania (Karjanmaa) [ˈkɑrjæniɑ], is a large communist nation in northern Evria, bordering Skjarnland, Rudania, and Livonia. It also controls the overseas territories of Cuohpajálla, the Frederikka Islands, the Kulaanmaan Territory, which borders Eivorie, and Karjanian Thule. It borders the Arctic Sea to the north. Its capital and largest city is Pietari, with a population of over 5,000,000. Roudanjärvi is the only other city to have over one million inhabitants. Karjania's official language is Routan alongside 8 recognized minority languages. Karjania has a mix of humid continental, boreal, and polar climates. A large part of Karjania is covered by boreal forest and is home to over 200,000 lakes. Karjania is home to several ethnic groups.
