MAJESTY

This article contains out-of-character (OOC) information. Some details presented here are not publicly available in-character (IC).

Special Reconnaissance Service No.12 "Majesty", often stylized simply as MAJESTY, was a former Elysian Office of Naval Intelligence branch specializing in espionage, sabotage and target elimination. Up until 1928, the organization operated under the oversight of the Supreme Protector, as well as the Minister of the Interior.

During the Hyperborea talks between Elysia and Nichirin, MAJESTY hijacked multiple Elysian assets for their own personal use, as well as attempted to blackmail Nichirin for further information on Imperial Site H-041 “Malkuth”, however were given nothing by the Nichirian delegation.

The organization quickly detached itself from Elysian command structures and established itself as a clandestine private military contractor. Its established goal is furthering the agenda of Militaristic Gestaltism. That is, global Unity via the means of military force and pressure. Today, MAJESTY’s operational capacity has been shrunk to a near irrelevant position, with the joint attack on their headquarters driving the organization into functionally disbanding.

History and Operations

MAJESTY was originally established as the 12th Special Reconnaissance wing of the Office of Naval Intelligence soon after the founding of the Unity State. Its primary goal was to act as Elysia’s primary source of foreign intelligence during the Period of Reconstruction, a period when Elysia maintained a policy of near total political isolation from the world. The ranks of the organization were mostly filled by former operatives from the USE, with their positions decided upon mostly by if they’d defected during the civil war or not.

MAJESTY continued to act as one of the most secretive and highly professional Intelligence branches of the Unity State, with its Director and the organization itself being brought under the command of Daedalus, a clandestine “power behind the throne” organization dedicated to furthering the cause of Gestaltism globally.

MAJESTY’s director, Cassandra Conway, began to rise through the organization’s ranks quickly, gaining a great deal of trust with the Supreme Protector. MAJESTY was even directly assigned by the Supreme Protector to act as the military escort for the 1927 Hyperborea expedition, leading to the permanent establishment of Foxtrot Base on the continent.

Following the negotiations between the Miyamoto Shogunate and the Unity State, which had already been hijacked by Conway to further her own interests, MAJESTY operatives began disappearing en-masse across Elysia and the rest of the world. The most alarming of which was the apparent kidnapping of Conway during the meeting between Shogun Masashi Miyamoto and Supreme Protector Archer Maine regarding the assassination of Emilie Langley, part of the Elysian delegation in Nichirin and an agent of MAJESTY. Soon enough however, Elysian intelligence was able to determine MAJESTY was behind said assassination attempt, and had de-facto completely split from the Elysian Intelligence community to form its own organization.

The organization is also linked to the attempted assassination of Col. George Elwood, the assassination of General Gyula of Turulia, the terrorist attacks on Turulian-born civilians in Slytlia, and the colonial uprising in the former Elvesterian colony of the Golden Coast.

As a private military contractor, MAJESTY has had dealings with several world governments to either augment their existing intelligence services, or assist directly with military operations. The organization has however severed ties with the Order of Shivon, due to being practically sold out to the Unity State by its government. In addition to their contract services, MAJESTY also operates the global logistics and transport corporation Rosa Industries as a shell company for their activities, at times siphoning funds from them to run their own operations.

The organization’s downfall began in earnest following several security leaks regarding ties to MAJESTY’s former operations and Conway’s past. The evidence collected from these leaks enabled Goro Kurotowa, Conway’s second-in-command and longtime supporter of the organization, to defect to the Miyamoto Shogunate and reveal the location to the opposing parties, using evidence available to the investigating parties. Following confirmation from an Elysian reconnaissance operation on the site of their headquarters, a joint Nichirian-Elysian strike force assaulted the facility as the final part of Operation KNIGHTFALL. The operation ended with a decisive Elysian victory, with the base falling under allied control and Conway’s arrest. What little could escape the facility’s fall fled alongside the organization’s remaining leadership, reorganizing themselves under Goro Kurotowa’s new private military company Soldiers Without Borders.

After this, MAJESTY functionally ceased to exist as a coherent entity, the remnants either fleeing the Wolf’s Lair’s destruction into exile, reorganizing under Kurotowa, or splintering off into their own smaller groups.

Structure

MAJESTY largely retains its pre-defection command structure, however has diversified its operations into three major branches. Ground, Naval, and Air. The director of the organization acts as the Commander-in-Chief for the entire organization, with the authority to directly assume command of any operation. In the absence of the director, the vice-director possesses the same authority, however is still under the command and oversight of the director. The primary administrative organ of the organization is the eponymously named Majestic Council, which acts as an advisory body for the director and vice-director. Each operation branch’s head as the primary chief of staff for their respective branch and hold the highest military ranks in the organization.

The organization maintains 3 variant area commands, each overseen by an officer of O-9 or higher, that are internally referred to as Stages. The size and importance of each stage varies based on the organization’s influence and operational capability per each region.

Stage 1 areas primarily include operational theaters in which MAJESTY either has very low interest in, is otherwise difficult to access, or proves too costly to effectively operate in. Usually, these areas only have rudimentary intelligence operations actively being overseen, however smaller insurrections do happen from time to time.

Stage 2 areas comprise the bulk of MAJESTY’s global operations. Stage 2 areas comprise primarily of nations in which MAJESTY possesses some territorial influence in, or is actively operating inside of. Stage 2 areas are typically the ones in which the organization is actively engaged in armed conflict or aggressive reconnaissance and espionage.

Stage 3 areas, often referred to as “Home Turf” are areas in which MAJESTY has active bases in, is actively in business with, or otherwise has significant political influence with. Currently, only Rudania are classified as Stage 3 nations.

Equipment

While a Private Military Contractor, MAJESTY itself possesses very little in terms of heavy fire power, basing their doctrines primarily around stealth and speed. What little weaponry they do possess, is either used sparingly in engagements of high importance, or centered around their current base of operations.

Primarily, the organization relies on foreign suppliers acting as a third party to supply them with Elysian made equipment, or purchasing equipment directly produced by aforementioned foreign suppliers. The global black market is also an important avenue for resupply.
