**Munehiro Ogasawara** (小笠原 宗廣; born May 13, 1867) is a [[nichirin|Nichirian]] law enforcement official serving as Minister of Interior Affairs under Shogun [[masashi-miyamoto]]. Ogasawara studied law at the University of Heitanmachi and attended the National Military Academy before entering the Shinkeisei Metropolitan Police, where he rose through the ranks over two decades. He was appointed Commissioner on June 23, 1917, and served for eight years, the longest tenure in the force's history. His commissionership coincided with a period of political upheaval that included the succession of Shogun Masashi Miyamoto in October 1923 and the attempted coup of March 1924.
Ogasawara departed the commissionership on December 1, 1925, and served in an advisory capacity before his appointment as Minister of Interior Affairs on December 25, 1926, succeeding Wakiko Fujima. Following the assassination of Chief of Staff Hideki Otonashi on January 1, 1930, his ministry conducted the initial scene investigation before the intelligence directorate assumed jurisdiction over the case. He is married to Yūko Teranishi.
